Hi Kyla,
It's wonderful to see you with us here at planDisney as you plan your visit to
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. As I am sure you already know, there are very few
Walt Disney World Resort hotels that can compare to the grandeur of this iconic beauty. I'm positive that you and your family will love the convenience of
Disney monorail or
water transportation just steps away from your room, as well as the ambience of the Grand Lobby,
delicious dining options, and the amazing Cast Members that make it all so magical. I'm excited for you!
The options for booking your perfect Resort hotel room can be a little tricky to figure out, right? The good news is that they are all fantastic! Let's get right to it.
The major difference between a Theme Park View Room and a Resort Studio - Theme Park View is that the Resort Studio is part of the
Disney Vacation Club collection of Villas. Since the Resort Studios were recently created by
converting a Resort hotel building, Big Pine Key, into a Disney Vacation Club Resort, they do offer beautiful spaces with recently refurbished soft goods. (I really do mean that they are beautiful! We stayed recently and were in love!)
You are exactly right that they share much in common. They are the same size at approximately 440 Square Feet. They both offer a coffee and tea station, a balcony or patio, a breathtaking Theme Park View, and accommodation for up to five guests.
Where you will find the biggest difference is that the Resort Studio offers a split bathroom design, which I believe delivers a bit of an easier experience with a larger crew. In one bathroom, you will find a toilet and a bathtub. In the other, a sink and a shower. I know that it can seem a little strange at first, but having two teens getting ready for bed at the same time without a fierce battle of "Paper, scissors, rocks" for first shower makes life much easier!
As far as the view is concerned, you will find Theme Park View in Boca Chica, Sago Cay and Conch Key. All Resort Studio options are located in Big Pine Key. From the map, you can see that any Theme Park View classified choices should give you an impressive view of Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle. I don't think you can make a bad selection! It's not available.
I hope that helps, Kyla! If we can answer anything else for you as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please don't hesitate to ask your new pals at planDisney!
Adventure is out there,
Sally
