When can I make a Grand California Hotel reservation for October 17th and 18th if I am an out of state visitor? I will be coming in to The hotel two days before on an Adventure by Disney trip I have already booked for October 19th. Thank you.

    Hi Joan!

Welcome back to planDisney! You’ve asked this question at the practically perfect time, as just this week Disneyland announced that Guests may begin booking Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa beginning April 15, 2021! You’ll be happy to know that reservations at the hotel can be made by anyone, including out-of-state Guests.

At this time, only California residents may visit the theme parks. This even applies to out-of-state Guests who are staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This requirement was made not by Disney, but by the State of California, and it is not known when this requirement will be lifted. I too am hoping this rule changes by the autumn, as my son’s marching band is scheduled to visit from Indiana in November. At this point, we will just need to wait and see and hope for a little pixie dust!

I hope this helps with your planning, Joan! And I hope you get to experience all the magic of that Adventures by Disney trip!
