I had a goofy idea, and with us going to Disney... I read on blogs about giving gifts to cast members that made our trip memorable. I wanted to make cute buttons, on it, some characters, our name and Thank You. Just like the B-Day ones. Is this acceptable?

    Hi Thomas!

What a wonderful idea! I love that you are already thinking about spreading some magic of your own while you are in Walt Disney World!

Strictly speaking, Cast Members are not allowed to accept gifts or tips. However, I do know that small thank you cards, and occasionally, small pins have been accepted by Cast Members in the past. Personally, I would go ahead and make your buttons. Offer them to the Cast Members who really make your trip special, but just keep in mind that some may not feel comfortable accepting the pin. If they aren't able to accept, just let them know that their hard work hasn't gone unnoticed and you appreciate them no matter what!

Of course, if you do receive exceptional service, it is always a great gesture to stop by guest services and let them know you'd like to leave a comment about a Cast Member (be sure to have their name and town from their Cast Member badge and the location you met them in). These notes become a part of their work history so their supervisors will know how great of a job they are doing.

Have a wonderful trip! I hope it is full of special moments for you and your family!
