Jambo, Shabnum! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so excited to hear about your upcoming trip!
When you enter
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you'll feel right at home. I'm sure you already know that
Boma means "fenced enclosure" in Swahili, and it's neat to see how they carried this fence motif throughout the restaurant. Both breakfast and dinner are buffets, and the food is inspired by authentic African recipes from over 50 countries all over the continent. I enjoy the Chakalaka and Pap served at breakfast, but I also like to load up my plate with some American bread pudding with a side of delicious vanilla sauce! They are well known for their soups at dinner, and fan favorites include the Butternut Squash and Coconut Chicken Curry. This is one of the best buffets on Walt Disney World Resort property in terms of quality and value!
I've dined here before with a large group, and since the tables are large, this location would be perfect for your traveling party. The easiest way to make dining reservations for eight or more guests is to split into two smaller groups. Try to enlist the help of someone connected to your
Family & Friends list and has their own
My Disney Experience account. Even if you both can't find reservations for the same time, you can often find two times within 10 minutes of each other. Then when you check-in at the hostess stand, ask if it's possible to all be seated together; sometimes, you may have a wait a few extra minutes. I also recommend finding a time that is not during peak meal times. The restaurant will be less busy and more accommodating to big parties.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these strategies work for you, Shabnum! Please feel free to write back anytime!
