What are good weeks to visit Disney World in September and October? We’re planning a family trip in 2020, and would like to find a time when dance and cheer competitions are not going on. Thank you!!

    Hi Karen!

You've picked a great time to visit Walt Disney World! I love the theme parks and resorts in the Fall. The heat of summer is subsiding, but evenings are still warm. It's perfect!

September and October are great times to visit for generally lower crowds and you really can't go wrong with any week you choose. Once most U.S. schools return for the Fall, the parks tend to be a bit less busy. Personally, I recommend mid- to late September. I think this is a perfect time to go. You'll have a great time, plus two of my favorite Walt Disney World events will be occurring: the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Both of these are must-do events for our family.

While the full calendar for Cheer Competitions at ESPN Wide World of Sports has not yet been released, I hope this won't have much impact on your park touring. Much of the competition is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and has limited impact on the theme parks. If you'd like to check back as dates are announced, you can always check the ESPN Wide World of Sports Cheer & Dance event list.

I hope this helps! You're sure to have a great visit no matter which week you choose!
