Hi Brandy! Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I just returned from a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth and I had the opportunity to enjoy
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and
Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade with its dancing reindeer and iconic wooden soldiers.
The parade is performed twice during the party at 8:30 and 11:00 pm. Generally the later parade is much less crowded than the first, and it is not as difficult to find a good viewing spot, especially if you choose to watch the parade from a location other than on Main Street, U.S.A.
Tony's Most Merriest Town Square Party includes a
buffet of hors d’oeuvres and desserts as well as beer and wine. Guests dine inside
Tony's Town Square Restaurant, and will have a reserved viewing area for the parade outside near the flagpole in Town Square.
Whether or not this experience will be "worth it" depends on how important it is to you to have a reserved spot to watch the parade. Some Guests do stake out a spot to watch the parade an hour or more in advance. Personally, I am happy to view the parade from the second or third "row", and will generally find a spot 15- 30 minutes in advance. However, I am also a firm believer that every vacation needs a bit of a splurge, so if a reserved viewing spot in a prime location for Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade along with a festive buffet sounds like something you are interested in, then maybe this is the splurge for you.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions as you
plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Enjoy your visit!
