Hey there, Marissa!
Welcome back to planDisney! From one Disney fan with work responsibilities galore to another, I see you! I feel this question in my bones. I'm proud of you for finding a way to make the most of a workday with a healthy dose of Disney Parks excitement. We've got this!
Since you are looking for a quiet spot in the wee-hours and will be visiting sunny Florida in February before the heat really kicks in, let's find you a shady spot outside. Then you can breathe in the fresh air, do a little distracted-people-watching, and accomplish your work goals. I have a few ideas.
There are some picnic tables with umbrellas in the courtyard at
Rosie's All American Cafe on Sunset Boulevard which would be great. I don't think you will find an outlet handy, so you will want to bring a power bank or make this a temporary spot. As Scar would say, "Be Prepared" because the buzzing of families finding the perfect snack as they race to the next attraction will be punctuated regularly by the excited shrieks of the folks realizing that the
haunted elevator they are riding is about to head straight down! This probably isn't the ideal place for a Zoom call without some explanation!
If you are looking for a bit more soothing background sounds, I think a fountain will do the trick! Check out the tables on the
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular side of Echo Lake. Again, expect some umbrellas to keep you from baking, but no access to plug-power. Early in the morning, this should be a little cooler of a location. Plus, who wouldn't want Gertie the Dinosaur to be a new colleague? I think she will make excellent company.
A little later in the day, I would set up at
Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. I love this elegant patio area for sitting and chatting with friends so I'm sure it would work even if your pals are through a screen. Plus, what working-on-vacation day couldn't be improved with a Charcuterie board and a glass of Jarvis Finch Hollow Chardonnay? (Vacations are for spoiling ourselves!)
Marissa, I want to be totally honest with you: I would probably make a small change to the plan. If I had to get things done in the morning, I would likely take a walk outside of the gates of
Disney's Hollywood Studios and stroll over to the second story of
Disney's BoardWalk Inn. There is this wonderful elevated patio off the main lobby. It overlooks the lawn, Disney's BoardWalk, and Crescent Lake. I'd claim a rocking chair in that special place, work until my fingers hurt, and
then meet my crew to explore the theme park. If the mercury started to rise or the rain came down before I finished, I could slip inside to a comfy couch in the lobby or
Belle Vue Lounge. But that's just me!
I hope that's helpful, Marissa! Come back and visit us with any other questions. We are here to support you!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Sally
