Good Morning I understand that we can’t register for a DAS until we get to Florida, but do we need to take take our autistic grandsons’ disability diagnosis information with us for the video chat.?

    Hi Jill,

Welcome to planDisney. We have utilized Disability Access Service (DAS) for our vacations in the past and it is a wonderful service for those that qualify. Keep in mind that this service only provides the option for you to wait somewhere else for the length of time you would have waited in a conventional queue line. This is fabulous for those who struggle to wait in a conventional queue environment and need accommodation.

You are correct that you will need to wait until you are in the United States to participate in the video chat to start the process. During that video chat, you will be asked questions about how the guest seeking qualification navigates things like lines normally and they will determine if DAS is the best service for your family or if another service would be a better fit to accommodate you. You will not need to provide proof of diagnosis or any other paperwork during this process. It will simply be a video chat conversation to determine eligibility. They will also be able to help explain how the system works and ensure that you get set up properly if you do qualify.

I recommend already having the My Disney Experience app downloaded and set up with your "Family and Friends" traveling with you already connected to make the process as smooth as possible. I also recommend reviewing the Services for Guests who are Neurodivergent before your trip so that you are familiar with all of the options available while you are at Disney World. There is some great information in there about which rides may have sensory experiences associated with them that is particularly helpful.

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
