Ahoy, Tania! Thanks so much for sailing by planDisney with your question. I’m happy to help as you get ready for your upcoming cruise in a few days!
You’re welcome to bring a small personal umbrella for rain on board the ship. Larger beach umbrellas, however, aren’t permitted onboard. You may also want to take a peek at Disney Cruise Line's
list of prohibited items before heading to the port.
When it comes to pop-up tents, Disney Cruise Line does allow small, infant-sized pop-up shade tents, but they can’t be used on the ship itself, including on the deck areas, due to safety and space considerations. The good news is that you can bring that small pop-up tent ashore to use at beach destinations, including
Disney Castaway Cay,
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or other ports of call with beaches. Just be sure it’s compact. Larger beach tents or canopies aren’t allowed. Also, at Disney’s private island destinations, complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas are already provided, so you may find you don’t need to bring any extra shade at all. I recommend getting off the ship as early as possible if having a prime spot close to the water is important to you.
Tania, I hope this helps as you finish packing. Have the most magical cruise and Bon Voyage!
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
