Good morning my son and I will be traveling to Disney world in late August early September. I have been deciding if I should get the dining plan or not. He is not a big eater, so I am afraid I will lose a lot of money. What are your thoughts?

    Hi Regina,

The Disney Dining Plan is a great option if you are a big eater, have children under eight or want to know your meals have been paid for in advance. If you like to dine at signature restaurants, the Deluxe meal plan is a great option.

If your son is not a bigger eater, it may not be worth it to you. Also, if he is over nine, he is considered an adult. If there are some restaurant he would only eat off the kids menu, it might be to your benefit to go without the plan.

My family rarely gets the meal plan. We do not eat all the food that is offered and some days we like to split meals.

One thing to keep in mind, Disney has offered free dining during this time period in the past. If they offer it again, it may be an option for you.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
