Good morning, Planning a trip for my family and myself. My husband is military and I'm a nurse is there any type of discount code for our service?

Hi Courtney! We are so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. From all of us at planDisney, thank you for your husband's service and yours too! I am happy to help!

As a service member, your husband qualifies for a few military perks. If he is on active duty, he can purchase Disney Military Salute Tickets, which are heavily discounted theme park passes. They are sold at your local military base in the MWR/ITT office. Since your visit is just around the corner, purchase them as soon as possible! They will look like green ticket stubs with the words "Exchange Certificate" on the front. Let me break down what to do next!

    • Download the My Disney Experience Mobile app. This will be your go-to during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Select the "☰" icon, and select "My Tickets & Passes." Select "Link Tickets and Passes" after pressing "+." There will be a 16-digit numerical code on the back of the Salute tickets that you will link to yourself and everyone else traveling with you.
    • Make Theme Park Reservations! Once your tickets are linked, scroll down to "Park Reservations" and select "Make or Modify Theme Park Reservations". Salute tickets require theme park reservations to enter theme parks. If you purchase Salute tickets with Park Hopper, you only need a reservation for the first park you visit that day.
    • Keep the exchange certificates! When you arrive at your first theme park, stop by Guest Relations (at the front entrance). Your husband will need to present his military ID to activate the tickets. While you're at Guest Relations, ask about the military discount for Memory Maker! This PhotoPass product gives you all the photos you take during your visit, including attraction photos and character meets! It is priced at $98 (subject to change) for service members, which is a great deal! Once your tickets are activated, you don't have to stop at Guest Relations during your visit. You are good to go!
If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line and see if the military rate is available at your Disney Resort. These rooms fill up fast, call as soon as possible! At this time, there are no First Responders special rates available.

Courtney, I hope all of this information was helpful! From one military spouse to another, thank you all for your service! If you need additional pixie dust to plan your vacation, you can directly send me questions at any time. You've got a friend in me!

    Happy Planning!
