Hey there, Courtney!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you are staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend!
As a coffee drinker and runner myself, I can certainly understand your concern. I've previously run the Disney Princess Half Marathon twice and other runDisney events and always need a cup of coffee to help with those early morning wake-up calls. I recently enjoyed a lovely stay in a standard room at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and loved all of the resort and room amenities. You'll be happy to know the rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge come equipped with a coffee maker. During my stay, Joffrey's French Bistro Blend pods were provided in the room for the Cuisinart 2-Cup coffee maker. To be honest, I can be a bit of a coffee snob, but I'm a huge fan of the Joffrey's French Bistro Blend coffee. Your room will also feature a mini-refrigerator.
During race weekends, it has been my experience that the Quick-Service location at our Disney Resort hotel has not been open before we needed to catch transportation to the race start. Cast Members will occasionally offer coffee in the lobby for race participants. Since that doesn't always happen, I would recommend either checking with the Front Desk of your resort the evening prior to see if coffee will be available or make coffee in your room on the morning of your race. For timing purposes, I always like to make mine in the room to enjoy while I'm getting ready.
I hope this information is helpful to you, Courtney. Please let us know if you think of any additional questions as you continue to prepare for your race weekend.
Happy Running,
Jodie
