Good morning! We are considering a trip this summer to WDW for our 8 year old's b-day. We have gone 2x with him, but now we have a baby who will be 15 months old when we would be going. Is there a lot he can do as well? Can he get on rides too? thanks!

    Hey there, Leah!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you are considering a Walt Disney World vacation for your son's 8th birthday. I have found "The Most Magical Place on Earth" to be the perfect vacation destination for a birthday celebration.

As a mom of four children, I can honestly say you will be amazed at just how many attractions your 15-month-old will be able to experience. Your young Mouseketeer will be able to ride any attractions that do not have a minimum height requirement. Follow the link I've provided to see the list of attractions that your little one can experience. Don't miss Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park.

Be sure to utilize Rider Switch for attractions that do have a minimum height requirement. When traveling with little ones, I recommend returning to your Disney Resort hotel for a midday break or nap. You can then return to the park to enjoy the nighttime activities. My husband and I have often used the "divide and conquer" strategy with our kiddos. One of us would stay with our twins for a much needed nap, while the other parent explored the park a bit longer or enjoyed time at the pool with our older two.

For the birthday boy, be sure to ask a Cast Member at the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel or Guest Relations location at the theme parks for a complimentary birthday celebration button. Your son will love all the birthday wishes he receives on his special day.

Leah, I hope this information is helpful in making the best decision for your family. Let us know if you have any new questions. I hope your son has a magical birthday trip, and your little one enjoys his first Walt Disney World vacation!

    Happy Celebrating,
    Jodie
