Hi Terence!
Welcome to planDisney! Before you know it, you'll be walking down Main Street, U.S.A and enjoying your favorite Mickey-shaped snack! While the weather may still be warm in Florida, happy haunts will be starting to materialize during your August trip and I'm sure you're going to have a bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful time at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Terence, when I've stayed off-site I typically prefer to use rideshare services rather than renting a car. Rideshares are very popular around the Orlando area and I haven't had an issue with availability - even when I've requested one at 3:00 AM to make it to the starting line of a runDisney race! However, it really is a personal preference. The convenience of having your own car to come and go on your schedule certainly has its benefits. Also, if you're traveling with any children who are young enough to still be in car seats, a car rental may be a better choice as finding a rideshare with the right type of car seat may be a bit more challenging. When driving to the theme parks, you'd have the choice of paying for either
standard or preferred parking.
Before I go, I'd love to share a few of my favorite tips when visiting Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! First, take full advantage of the early entry you get to Magic Kingdom Park ahead of the party. While grim-grinning ghosts don't come out to socialize until 7:00 PM, you're party ticket will allow you to enter the park at 4:00 PM. I like to make an early dinner reservation at either
The Plaza Restaurant or
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen so that I don't have to take time out of the party events to eat dinner and can skip right to all of the delightful tricks and treats! You also won't want to miss the Sanderson sisters as they put a spell on you during the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. I watched the last showing of this at midnight and it was the perfect way to end the night!
Terence, I hope this helps as you prepare for a spooktacular visit to Walt Disney World Resort later this year! Please stop by to see us again here at planDisney if you have any other questions in the future!
Hurry Back. . .
