What time does tge first steam train leave in the morning and additionally, what time does it arrive in Frontierland? Also, is there a posted train schedule somewhere? I wasn’t able find one.

    All Aboard, Sandra!

Welcome to planDisney!  Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is Just Around the Riverbend!  If you're anything like me, these last days before leaving are spent getting my Donald Ducks in a row for a magical visit!

Sandra, the Walt Disney World Railroad typically runs from park opening until the early evening.  Current hours of operation can be found on the website along with more details about the attraction.  The train (or often time trains) runs continuously on a loop around the park so there are no set arrival or departure times for each station.  You can also find operating hours in your My Disney Experience Mobile App.  Those hours are not listed on the Tip Board, but you can click the location icon along the bottom of your app to pull up a map and you'll see it marked on the "Wait Times."  If you click the time, and then click again on the name of the attraction, it will open up additional information which will have the operating times for the day.

With stops at the park entrance, Frontierland, and Storybook Circus in Fantasyland, you can use the train to help navigate to another area of the park or just hop aboard and enjoy the ride!  While ride lengths can sometimes vary based on how long the train is stopped at each station, it's a pretty short ride between stations and I would recommend allowing at least 20-30 minutes if you plan to go around the whole park.  In my opinion, it probably doesn't save time when compared to walking in the park, especially when you take into account the time stopped at stations for unloading and boarding, but it can give tired legs a rest and is certainly a nostalgic ride.  My husband loves steam trains (just like Walt!) so it's a must-do for us on each vacation!

My favorite part of the journey is the stretch of track between Frontierland and Fantasyland.  Here you'll find some great views of a different railroad - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!  Also, keep your ears open during your ride as the recorded audio will share some fun Disney facts!  If you're traveling with any little ones in strollers, it's important to note that you must fold your stroller to board.  Since the rental strollers from Walt Disney World Resort cannot be folded, you would not be able to bring them and would instead have to leave them at stroller parking and pick them up later.

Sandra, I hope this information helps as you prepare for your trip later this week!  Thanks for choo- choo- choosing to stop by planDisney with your question and we hope to see you again real soon!

    Cheers!
