Aloha, Amy! Thanks so much for making your way to planDisney, where our
'Ohana is always ready and waiting to help with your pressing vacation planning questions! I'm happy to help with plans for your upcoming Hawaiian adventure at
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa--let's dive right in!
Aulani holds a special place in my heart, as it was the site of our first trip as Disney Vacation Club Members. It is such a lovely spot, with all sorts of activities to occupy families. You are going to absolutely love it! Among the many excellent dining options at the resort is Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands, which features a fun breakfast with Mickey and friends in their best Hawaiian attire.
Amy, as you're arriving this week, reservations may be limited--but don't fret! I recommend
calling the resort to inquire about possible booking times since you're experiencing issues using the website. If you can't secure a time before your arrival, you can stop by the restaurant and speak to a Cast Member there. They can advise you of any cancellations or availability for walk-up seating for breakfast at Makahiki.
If the stars don't align for this experience, I will say that our family loves the breakfast at Off the Hook, which is located near the entrance to the beach. You can start your day with a great meal there and then consult the Daily 'Iwa--the resort activities guide--to find what times Character Greetings will be happening throughout the day. There are many opportunities to meet Mickey, Minnie, Moana, and other pals every day, so you will have no problem getting some quality time and terrific photos!
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Amy! Wishing your family a wonderful journey beyond the reef, with lots of sunshine, shave ice, and memories to treasure. Thanks again for visiting us at planDisney, and please stop by again anytime if we can help with other questions.
Stay Magical!
Susan
