Is it a good idea to give phone cards for additional tips?

    Ahoy, Jan!

One of the "minnie" reasons my family loves to cruise with Disney is the phenomenal service we receive by the amazing crew members no matter which vessel or itinerary. We are always blown away by the attention to detail like my daughter's nightly cherry tradition. She loves cherries so on the first night of our very first cruise (over ten years ago) our dining server brought her a bowl and that has continued every night of every cruise since then. We just tell the server when we sit down and he/she makes it happen and her face still lights up when that first bowl arrives. It is literally the "cherry on top" to our dining experience aboard Disney Cruise Line

Since the crew works day and night to ensure a magical time is had by all, we often like to add some extra cash to our gratuities to show our thanks and appreciation for their hard work and service during our time aboard. I wasn't sure about phone cards since we normally give cash in the gratuity envelopes along with our vouchers, so I contacted Disney Cruise Line about your question. They suggested cash as an additional tip. Of course, this is optional and the amount is at your discretion.

Jan, you are in for a magical vacation very soon! Please keep us posted with any other questions you may have about your voyage.
