Good evening If my military brother gifted myself and my children annual passes for our family, does he have to be present when we use them? He is going activate them this week, but my family first trip is in February. I’m making sure we can get in.

Greetings, Holley, and thank you and your family for your military service. How thoughtful of your brother to give the gift of Disney magic! Let's look at how the new military passes work at Walt Disney World Resort.

The Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket is a fantastic offer, and I'm thrilled your brother is considering securing it for you. I read the important details, and the main one that stood out to me is that he must have a pass himself. He can be a regular Annual Passholder or purchase the same military pass. He can also purchase up to five additional passes. Talk about sharing the pixie dust!

As for activating the passes, I chatted with a patriotic Cast Member at Shades of Green, the military resort at Walt Disney World, and she said that the military member must be present at the theme park entrance the first time the tickets are used. She specifically said he must be there when you scan in, and he should be prepared to show a valid military ID.

If you'd like to ask more detailed questions, I suggest calling Shades of Green and selecting the ticketing option. The agents there have the most up-to-date information about military tickets. They would be proud to help you!

One of my favorite hidden gems at Magic Kingdom Park is the Flag Retreat. This moving tradition takes place around sunset each evening and is a heartfelt tribute to our military members. I hope your family can check it out!

Holley, I'm sprinkling stars and stripes so that everything works out smoothly and your brother can secure those passes for you and your family. I see lots of magical memories being made this year! Please stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
