Welcome to planDisney Caroline! Thanks for reaching out with your question. I'm excited to help you! How wonderful that you're planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! You’re sure to create some amazing memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Planning your dining at Disney World can feel overwhelming, especially with picky eaters, but you're staying at the stunning
Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is a fantastic choice! My husband and I stayed there during our honeymoon and it is my family's favorite resort!
To start, it’s essential to prioritize your must have reservations, as some Disney restaurants are very popular and fill up quickly. Character meals are a fantastic choice for families, as they offer entertainment alongside kid friendly menus.
Tusker House in Animal Kingdom serves an African inspired buffet but includes familiar items like waffles, scrambled eggs, and roasted meats.
Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort is another great option, offering a classic American buffet with character appearances. The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom features Pooh & Friends and a kid friendly buffet, while
’Ohana at the Polynesian Resort provides a delightful family style breakfast or dinner with options that appeal to children.
Buffets and family style meals are excellent options for picky eaters because they provide a variety of choices.
Boma, at your resort, offers a wide range of options, including African inspired dishes and familiar comfort foods like mac and cheese or chicken nuggets.
Garden Grill in EPCOT is one of my favorite restaurants and serves family style platters with kid friendly staples like turkey, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.
Quick service dining can also be an easy solution for picky eaters. Locations like Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom is known for its hot dogs and fries, while Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT offers barbecue dishes alongside simpler kid friendly options. Mobile ordering through the
My Disney Experience app is highly recommended for quick service meals, as it allows you to save time and customize orders to suit your family’s preferences.
With your trip being two weeks long, I would suggest planning your
dining reservations based on the parks you’ll visit each day. Reservations open 60 days in advance at 6:00 AM Eastern Time, and since you’re staying on property, you’ll have the advantage of booking for your entire stay at that time. Begin with the most in-demand restaurants, such as ’Ohana, Chef Mickey’s, and Tusker House, to secure your spot.
I hope you find this information helpful Caroline. Thank you again for visiting planDisney! Please visit us again if you have any additional questions. Have a magical day!
