Hi Deidra!
Welcome to
planDisney, your go-to, one-stop shop for answers to all your Disney vacation questions. It looks like your cruise on
Disney Cruise Line is just around the river bend How exciting! I’m glad you decided to sail by with your question about the necessary travel documents. You want to be sure you are well prepared and have all that you need in hand when you arrive at the cruise terminal.
While it is a great idea to travel with a U.S. Passport, some cruise itineraries allow you to use an original state-issued birth certificate and a physical government-issued photo ID for travel. So long as your cruise reservation is under your married name and your government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, has your married name, it is okay that your birth certificate has your maiden name. If the cruise reservation and photo ID have your married name, you do not need to bring any further documentation, like your marriage certificate. You can read more about travel documents required for the different sailings on Disney Cruise Line on the
Passports, Visas, & Citizenship Documents page on the
Disney Cruise Line website.
I hope this information is helpful, Deidra. Have a wonderful time on your cruise! Please visit us here at planDisney if we can answer any more of your vacation questions.
Happy Sailing!
Angie
