Ahoy there, Aida! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you for bringing us your question.
I do love a
Bermuda cruise, and it's even better when us northeast folks get to sail out of New York City! All of the
Disney Cruise Line sailings that include
Bermuda in the itinerary are what they call "closed-loop" cruises. With a closed-loop cruise, which means it starts in a U.S. port and ends in the same U.S. port, you do not
NEED a passport if you are a U.S. citizen. You will need a valid, government-issued photo identification - like a current driver's license or military ID card, and you will also have to have a birth certificate. The birth certificate has to be a state-issued original birth certificate or a certified copy - the ones with the raised seal. They will not accept the hospital birth certificate.
If you can get a passport though, I can't recommend it enough. While you can cruise without a passport, and get on and off the ship in Bermuda, if there was an accident or emergency, you could run into delays or complications flying home. If there's time before you sail, it's worth having peace of mind.
Have a wonderful time planning, Aida!
