Hello Gloryelizza!
Congratulations to your daughter on her extra special birthday! The
Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to commemorate family memories and I agree the Magic Kingdom is the most magical backdrop of them all.
The
theme park dress and costume guidelines do specifically say that attire that touches or drags on the ground is not permitted, and they give the example of full-length ball gowns, which are traditional for Quinceañera gowns. So while you are very welcome to take non-professional, personal photos in the parks, her attire would need to meet the guidelines. In the past,
Disney’s Fine Art & Photography was able to accommodate Quinceañera photography sessions before park opening where a more traditional dress would be allowed. While only wedding sessions are currently available, never fear, I have some alternate ideas for you!
In terms of her dress, consider an alternate style dress that is shorter and meets the park dress guidelines. She could still wear a special tiara or even a birthday sash so everyone knows she is celebrating! Since
masks are required even in photographs in the parks, look for something fancy and extra special. I have seen some very dressy masks covered in sequins and rhinestones! While your daughter may not get to wear a ball gown, you would still be able to enjoy a beautiful and special photography session on your visit, and make her feel like a Disney princess.
I highly recommend
Capture Your Moment - A Disney Parks Photo Experience for an amazing way to photograph your special girl. You will receive your own private PhotoPass Photographer for a 20-minute photo session inside the Magic Kingdom. If you think you’ll need a bit longer, you can even book two back-to-back sessions if available. We booked one of these sessions on our trip in October. We wanted a family photo or two, but we wanted to focus on our oldest son who is a senior in high school this year. We even had a Mickey Ear Hat embroidered with his name and “Class of 2021.” I liked the idea of a photo of him from behind with the words on the hat, so we would have a photo where his mask was not visible. Perhaps you could get something similar made for your daughter. It would be a cute photo prop and you would have the hat as a souvenir! I cannot say enough good things about our PhotoPass session, and their photographs were so much better than any I tried to take myself. I was thrilled with the results and we used the photos on our holiday cards this year.
I hope this helps you to plan the perfect photography session for your special girl. Wishing her a magical birthday!
