    I have a Gold AP that expires in July. If I choose to renew at the discounted Gold renewal rate in July, then six months into the AP period, I wish to upgrade my Gold AP to the Platinum Plus AP, do I receive a prorated discount and the renewal discount?

    Hi, Joshua! This is a really great question, so I am glad you stopped by today. Becoming a member of the Annual Passholder family is one of the best (and most fun!) decisions I have made. Speaking of fun, be sure to keep an eye out for any possible V.I.PASSHOLDER Nights planned in the future. These are really magical, exclusive events attended only by Annual Passholders. Since attendance is limited, you will have to preregister through a link you will be sent via email, so keep a look out for that!

    Looking over the information you provided, I am sorry to say that in this case, you would not be able to take advantage of the renewal discount offered to current Annual Passholders. This discount is only available up to 60 days before your pass expires and up to 30 days after it expires. You would receive a sort of prorated discount, in that you will be credited the price you already paid for your Gold Annual Pass towards the full price of the Platinum Plus Annual Pass. Note that you would not, however, receive a prorated discount for only having a Platinum Plus Annual Pass for half of the year.

    If you are wanting to have the Platinum Plus Annual Pass so that you will not have any blackout periods during this year, then I recommend you go ahead now and renew your pass as the Platinum or Platinum Plus Annual Pass. The renewal price for both offers a great discount. You would be able to use its benefits all year long and enjoy more of the magic that Walt Disney World Resort offers.
