Howdy Brian, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Fort Wilderness is the perfect place to stay with a large group because there’s so much to do right at the campground. Some of my family’s best Disney memories are from our time at Fort Wilderness.
If you’re looking to book several campsites, I’d suggest calling the
Group Reservations phone number to discuss your options. Depending on how many sites you’re looking to book, there’s a group camping area. But if you’re just looking to reserve a few campsites, you can book them by calling the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone number. They can also add a request to your reservations to keep your campsites in the same area. You can also book the campsites on the
Disney World website and call to add the request afterwards. While requests aren’t guaranteed, Cast Members will try their hardest to grant your wish!
Since you have such a large party, if you’re planning to rent a
golf cart, I would make that reservation as soon as you book the campsites. Golf cart availability can be limited, especially for the larger six-person carts.
I love that Fort Wilderness is just a short boat ride away from
Magic Kingdom, but I could also just hang out at the campground all day! Some of my favorite activities are dancing with Chip ’n’ Dale at their
Campfire Sing-A-Long, visiting the ponies at
Tri-Circle-D Ranch (you might recognize some of the horses from Magic Kingdom’s
Festival of Fantasy Parade and
Main Street Vehicles!), and watching the
Electrical Water Pageant from the beach.
I hope you have a rootin’ tootin’ good time at Fort Wilderness with your crew! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
