How do I go about planning a trip that includes my son and his family to celebrate my granddaughter’s 4th birthday and first time visit?

    Hi Migdalia!

What an exciting birthday celebration you're planning for your granddaughter! I can't think of a better way to celebrate a little one's birthday than with a magical trip to Walt Disney World Resort. You'll be making family memories to last a lifetime!

There are so many ways to make a birthday special at Walt Disney World. First things first, make sure to stop by any Guest Relations location to pick up a complimentary birthday button, and a "My First Visit" button as well! Did you know you can have these buttons personalized in a most magical way? If you stop by Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park or Disney's Days of Christmas at Disney Springs, a Cast Member can add her name and other gorgeous artwork for a small fee. We always get our buttons personalized when we celebrate birthdays and other milestones at Disney. You'll be amazed at how many birthday wishes she'll get from Cast Members, and even other Guests!

For a pint-sized set of embroidered Mickey Ears for your little princess, stop by Curtain Call Collectibles at Magic Kingdom - they can personalize her ears while you wait! They also have several selections of birthday-themed ears available as well.

If you'd like to celebrate with a special cake, there are lots of options! Celebration cakes can be arranged for Guests with reservations at participating Table Service restaurants and can be pre-ordered for your celebration. Guests of select Disney Resorts Collection hotels may be able to use Mobile Ordering in the My Disney Experience Mobile App to pick up a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake from an onsite Quick Service restaurant (Check your resort's dining locations for availability). You also have the option to pre-order and pick up a delicious cake from Amorette's Patisserie in Disney Springs - simply give them a call or visit the store at least 72 hours in advance.

If you'd like to add a touch of pixie dust to your Disney Resort Hotel room, I encourage you to reach out to Disney Floral and Gifts. From gift baskets to balloon bouquets, they can deliver all kinds of fun, festive items - they even have same-day delivery if you order by noon EST.

Your birthday princess might enjoy a visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where Fairy Godmother's Apprentices will transform her into elegant royalty right before your eyes! To preserve these precious moments and fabulous "firsts", you might want to consider booking a Capture Your Moment photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer to document the occasion. These private photo sessions are offered in all four theme parks and are by reservation only, so my advice is to book as far in advance as you can.

These are only a few of the ways to celebrate a birthday in Walt Disney World, and I hope this gives you some ideas of how to make the celebration special for the whole family!
