Hi Joanie, and welcome to planDisney. I just love the vibes in the theme parks during the late afternoon and evening hours. It feels extra magical being there for “golden hour” and into the evening, with all of the glowing lights!
It sounds like you may be a
Disney World Annual Passholder. I know the rules for things like
park hopping and
theme park reservations have changed a few times over the years, so I’d be happy to confirm the current rules (which are, of course, always subject to change!).
Annual Passholders can visit any of the four theme parks without a theme park reservation after 2:00 p.m. The exceptions are Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom, when you’d need a theme park reservation no matter what time you arrive. There are also good-to-go days, where you don’t need a theme park reservation at all, regardless of the time. You can check the good-to-go days on the
Annual Passholder Admission Calendar.
If you’re looking to park hop earlier in the day, you don’t need to wait until 2:00 p.m. Just be sure to scan into the park that you have a theme park reservation for first, and then you can head to your second park. If you’re not an Annual Passholder and have a ticket that doesn’t require a theme park reservation (which applies to most date-based tickets), you can enter any theme park first and then hop to a different one whenever you want. Just keep in mind that bus transportation between theme parks doesn’t usually start until 10:00 a.m.
If you are an Annual Passholder, don’t forget that there’s a
complimentary magnet featuring Nick and Judy that you can pick up at Animal Kingdom through March 15th. You can find all the details, plus other Passholder news and perks, on the Passholder Buzz section of the
My Disney Experience app. On the home screen, scroll down to Discover The Passholder Buzz! and press the Learn More button.
I’m wishing you many magical visits to Disney World this year! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
