We want to go Nov 1-6, 2012 - what will the weather be? How packed will the park be? Will the parks be decorated for the holidays? Our main goal is to see Disney for the holidays, and we want to avoid high traffic times. Thanks!

    Hi Mario,

If your main goal is to see holiday decorations, you should visit a week or two later than the dates you've suggested.

The exact dates for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween and Very Merry Christmas parties have not yet been announced. However, historically there have been Halloween parties on Oct 31 and November 1. Then then need a few days to change the decorations over from Halloween to Christmas. Recently, the first Christmas party has been on November 7. If this year is similar, the Magic Kingdom might be decorated by the end of the first week of November, but it will take a bit longer for the rest of Walt Disney World to catch up. If you're coming to see the holiday finery, you'll want to see ALL the fun stuff: Osbourne Lights at Hollywood Studios, the big gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian, the tree made of toys at Downtown Disney - everything! I'd wait until at least the second week of November to visit.

As far as crowds go, the first three weeks of November are all a low-traffic time. Things won't get bustling until the week that includes Thanksgiving.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
