Can we go to Magic Kingdom the last day of the trip after departing the ship at Port Canaveral? If so, what happens to our luggage?

    Ahoy Cynthia!

So happy that you have a Disney cruise scheduled. And what a great idea to maximize your final day with some extra time at Walt Disney World! Any time someone wants to make their vacation a land and sea combo, I am always in support of that.

I love a good logistical challenge: getting from Port Canaveral to Magic Kingdom after your Disney cruise and what to do with your luggage while you enjoy the park. While my suggestions might add some time to your travels, it does provide the solution since you do not have the option of storing the luggage at Bell Services without a Disney Resorts Collection reservation.

My first idea is that you could take Disney Cruise Line ground transportation from Port Canaveral to the Orlando International Airport and use Hold My Luggage, a luggage storage service at Orlando International Airport. Just make sure to verify hours of operation so you return in plenty of time to retrieve your bags. You would have to arrange a ride share service or taxi to get to and from Magic Kingdom, but your luggage would be waiting for you at the airport when you return.

A trick I learned from my fellow Disney Cruise Line panelist Angie is to rent a car from the Orlando International Airport and drive to the Magic Kingdom yourselves. Daily rates for rental cars can be really inexpensive and might actually cost less than storing luggage at the airport (depending on how many bags you have). Instead, you can keep the luggage in the car and spend the day having fun at the Magic Kingdom.

Finally, you can do a Google search to see the companies in the area that will store luggage. One I found was named Bounce and might have locations close to the Magic Kingdom. That way, you could cut out the trek out to Orlando International Airport.

I hope one of these options would allow you to add a day of theme park fun after your Disney cruise. Wishing you an amazing adventure at sea and an exciting add-on day in the middle of the magic!

    SEA ya real soon!
