We go on the Fantasy (first cruise ever) in October!! We are a family of 5. Are we limited to a certain number of carry on bags and/or regular bags? Thanks so much!!

Welcome aboard, Karen! Congratulations on your very first Disney cruise! You are in for a really amazing trip!

If you're flying into Orlando for your cruise, just base what you bring on the ship on what you'd normally bring on the airplane. Disney asks that guests limit the baggage to two checked bags per person and a day bag (or two) per person to carry on for that first day on the ship before your luggage arrives.

However, my family really tries to stick to a total of 3 or 4 checked bags. Keep in mind that you'll need to store all of those empty suitcases in your stateroom and that can take up quite a bit of room if there are five of you with 10 suitcases! If you can manage with about 4 checked bags, you will find it a lot easier to store your baggage and still have room to maneuver around your stateroom.

On the Fantasy, the beds are raised to a nice height so even if you travel with hard-sided luggage like we do, you can easily slide those under the bed to keep them out of the way. Our luggage is a set of different sized matching pieces so we can put the small one inside the medium, and the medium inside the large. That certainly saves space!

There are laundry facilities onboard the ship for guests to use, so keep that in mind when you pack as well!

Have fun as you continue to plan your Fantasy cruise, Karen! Please let me know if I can help with anything else!
