Hey, Will. Let's see if we can get you shipshape and ready to sail.
Your
Disney Cruise Line voyage is days away, so you must be anxious to get an answer to cross one more thing off of your
pre-cruise checklist. Disney Cruise Line has specific
requirements for children to have either an original birth certificate or a copy of a birth certificate. While I can't specifically address your situation, since I can't see the document, I do know that a photocopy of a birth certificate may show the word void on it.
When Disney asks for a copy of a birth certificate, they generally mean that you have gone to the issuing agency for a replacement of the original birth certificate - a copy of what would have been issued at birth. This document will have a raised seal, much like the original birth certificate. If the document you have has this raised seal, you've gotten it from a state agency, and it's been accepted when you uploaded your documents, I might be tempted to rely on faith, trust, and pixie dust and say you're good to go.
If you are missing any of these components, I encourage you to
call one of the very helpful cast members to see what options you have. I can relate this story to you. We took my stepmom on a cruise, and she lost her documents at the airport. We called Disney, and they advised us to go to the port with the photocopy she made of her documents to keep in her luggage in case of emergency, and the gate agent would decide. They allowed her to sail!
My fingers are crossed, Will!
