When you go to book a little mermaid room at Art of Animation it says 2 beds, or one king bed. There will be 3 adults and 2 kids in our room. How will I be sure to get 2 beds?

    Chelsea,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Unfortunately the rooms at Disney's Art of Animation Resort Little Mermaid section cannot be booked for a party of 5. They are only designed to host a party of 4, so you would not be able to reserve this room in the first place. The only exception is if one of the two children is a toddler under the age of 3. What you might prefer to consider is one of the Family Suites, also at the Art of Animation, that would comfortably fit you all in, with 1 Queen bed, 1 double-size sleeper sofa, and another double-size bed that is a Murphy bed that converts into a table.

If that is not really your speed, there is another option. Several of the Moderate resorts at Disney also have rooms that sleep 5, with two beds and a 5th sleeper, which is ideal for children. You can check out the 5th sleeper rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to get a feel for how it would fit your family.

    BONUS TIP
You did ask about requesting a room with 2 beds, versus a room with just one. Typically, when you do the Online Check In prior to arrival this can sometimes be an option. But they will look at party size and realize how crowded 4 would be in 1 bed! Even if for some odd reason they placed you in a room with just one bed, the front desk can get that re-assigned to make sure you are comfy in your home in the magic!

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions, or want to strategize on other resort options.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
