Can we go back to our room in the afternoon and re-enter later that day?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sharon! I’m happy to see that you’re considering a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Thanks for bringing us your question!

Yes, you definitely can take a break from the theme parks mid-day and return later that evening! When you purchase tickets for Disney theme parks, your ticket is valid for re-entry from park opening to park closing. If you purchase the Park Hopper option, you can leave one park and enter any of the other three theme parks on the same day.

Sharon, I have two young girls and nap time and is a must! We always leave the parks mid-day for a nap and many times “hop” to a different park at night to enjoy firework shows. All you have to do when you re-enter is tap your MagicBand or card to the Mickey sensor, use the same finger you used when you first activated your ticket (I always forget which finger I used. Thankfully, I have a very observant six-year-old who always reminds me) and you’re back in!

It works the same way if you pay the parking fee for the day at the theme park entrance. Whether you paid for standard or preferred parking, you will be able to park at any of the four theme parks all day, all you have to do is show the Cast Member your receipt as you’re entering the front gates and you’re on your way!

I hope this information is helpful to you! Please feel free to come back to see us soon. Helping you plan your magical stay is our favorite thing to do!
