I am giving my grandsons Disney Christmas "26 for Christmas this year... however I am extremely confused by the ticket prices while attempting to book rooms with a package? help please I have searched for an answer for a couple of hours.

Hiya Sami, and greetings from a fellow Coloradan Disney lover! You've come to the right place, welcome to planDisney and I'll be happy to shine some pixie-dusted light onto your question.

I love that you are planning to gift a wonderful Disney vacation to your grandsons! They are going to be so thrilled to have a magical countdown to look forward to, and start daydreaming about their top attractions they can't wait to experience!

It sounds like you are trying to book a Disney World vacation package, which means a Disney Resort room plus Disney theme park tickets. I love this option because of it's flexibility. For a $200 refundable deposit (prices subject to change), you can reserve your choice of resort and dates. Then you're able to make easily payments only at My Disney Experience - My Plans towards that package in any amount or frequency, up until your final payment is due 30 days prior to check-in. And if you see any Special Offers, Deals, or Discounts in the meantime you can easily modify your reservation to take advantage of the deal and save yourself some money.

First, make sure you've entered your grandsons in Your Family & Friends list, using the "Add a Guest" button, so that you can include them as guests on the reservation. If you will be vacationing with them, you will be able to manage these plans during the trip. If you will NOT be vacationing with them, you may need to collaborate with a primary guest to make this reservation under their My Disney account. I'll walk you through how to make the reservation if you plan to be one of the guests. Starting from the Build Your Vacation tool on the main page enter your visit dates and number of guests. Next choose a Disney Resort, and when the search results show your room type options, make sure you select Package under "Which Offers would you like to see?".

After choosing a room type, select how many days of park tickets you would like to include with your package. The minimum required as part of a vacation package is selecting a 2-day park ticket. You'll see the package price adjust ("offer subtotal" in top right corner) as you select different number of ticket days to include. Unless you are booking under a special offer, these prices are the same as purchasing the Disney Resort and Theme Park Tickets individually. The default "1 Park Per Day" will allow entrance to any 1 of the 4 Disney World Parks per day. This is what my family typically selects. If it will be a shorter visit, and your grandsons may wish to park-hop, in other words visit two or more Disney Parks on the same day... you would want to consider selecting "Park Hopper Option". These are the two most common ticket types purchased. The other tickets add the ability to visit a Disney Water Park.

The next screen offers the option to add a Disney Dining Plan, and the final screen is your check-out! It will display your total package price, and the $200 deposit amount due. Again, you can always go back and make changes to your reservation later, if needed.

Sami, I hope this helps get you the answers you needed! If you still have questions, please feel free to send me a follow up question with more specifics. You've got this! It's going to be the best present ever - woo hoo!

    Sending pixie-dust,
    Tami
