Hi Kristen, I'm excited to welcome you back to planDisney! I love how
MagicBands (officially known as Disney Bands outside of the U.S.) make it easy to navigate the theme parks and resort hotels without needing to rummage through my bag for a room key or my phone.
Now, let’s figure out how to get you a MagicBand! Unfortunately, guests outside of the U.S. aren’t able to pre-order MagicBands for delivery or pickup at your resort hotel at this time. While it’s a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer, the good news is that the selection of MagicBands is much larger at the stores in the theme parks, resort hotels, and
Disney Springs. Recently the pre-order selection online has been pretty limited. There are also usually MagicBands for sale at the Disney store in the Orlando airport if you want to pick one up before even getting to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Another really cool option is to personalize your own custom MagicBand at
D-Tech on Demand at Disney Springs. You can pick from endless designs and even add your name! I’ve also seen customization kiosks at other locations, like Tomorrowland Launch Depot in
Magic Kingdom, although those kiosks were offline when I was there a few weeks ago and I’m not sure when they’re expected to be back up and running.
If you end up making a custom MagicBand, keep in mind that it can take a couple of hours for your creation to be ready. If you’re at Disney Springs, I suggest heading to D-Tech first and then shopping or eating while you wait.
Some of my Disney Springs must-dos include shopping at the
World of Disney (you'll find the largest collection of Disney merchandise on property here!) and grabbing a Disney-themed treat from
Amorette’s Patisserie.
You also don’t need a MagicBand to do all the things like scan into theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances, open your hotel room door, and link
PhotoPass pictures. So, if you’re still searching for the right MagicBand, you’ve got options! You can get a Key to the World Card from your resort hotel’s front desk or set up
Disney MagicMobile Service, which gives you most MagicBand features through your phone’s mobile wallet!
I hope this gets you excited to find the practically perfect MagicBand while you’re at Disney World. Every store can have a different selection, so think of it as a pixie-dusted scavenger hunt! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
