Hiya, Aftin! Welcome to planDisney. We're happy you stopped by!
Aftin, I love decorating my stateroom door when sailing on
Disney Cruise Line! There's nothing like seeing cheerful displays while walking through the corridors to bring a smile to one's face. However, the doors at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are not the same as the doors on Disney Cruise Line, they're more susceptible to damage. After speaking with a Cast Member, I learned that items like magnets, over-the-door holders, and decorations are not recommended during a stay at
Walt Disney World Resort or
Disneyland Resort. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, though you can always reach out to your specific resort hotel at the time of your visit for more information, as policies are always subject to change. But Hakuna Matata! I have another idea for you:
While stateroom doors on Disney Cruise Line are perfect for decorations, it's the
windows at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort that are typically decorated! Guests often use window clings, battery-operated lights, and even balloons to bring some cheer to their rooms. I've even seen decorative pumpkins or small, faux trees during the holidays! This works especially well at
Value Resort Hotels and
Moderate Resort Hotels, where the windows are in full display of other Guests walking by. I love the idea of sharing a little extra magic with others in this very special way!
I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today, Aftin! If you have any other questions about planning for your trip to a Disney destination, please write to us again.
You've got a friend in me,
Michelle
