when does the gingerbread house go up at the Grand Floridian Hotel this year?

    Holiday greetings, Deanna!

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa's lobby takes my breath away every time I visit, especially during the holiday season. And I'm always amazed at the life-size gingerbread house that is built for this lobby each yEAR! A visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during mid-November through the first of January isn't complete without seeing this edible masterpiece and purchasing a sweet treat from The Bake Shop!

Deanna, the gingerbread house is being constructed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at this time, so it should be open by the middle of this month. Since your visit is still a few weeks away, you will be able to see it completed during your stay. Did you know they use 1,050 pounds of honey, 700 pounds of chocolate, and over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread for the construction? Isn't that amazing? If the aroma of all these sweet ingredients makes you hungry, there will be plenty of holiday treats for sale at The Bake Shop, including gingerbread cookies and shingles, chocolate peppermint bark (my favorite!), and Christmas tree brownies just to name a few!

The holidays are such a magical time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, Deanna! And visiting the Deluxe Resort hotels to see their festive decor and displays are always a joyful way to spend a day!

Thank you for stopping by with your question. Have a MERRY visit!
