Hi there, Joselyn, and welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for submitting your question to us and it's a pleasure to see you here. You're a person after my own heart because I definitely appreciate the value of stable video footage, especially on a vacation video. It makes that video rewatchable years later and you'll be able to enjoy your Disneyland Resort trip again and again.
I'm happy to report that gimbals are allowed through security and into the Disneyland Resort. Disney maintains a
Prohibited Items List and gimbals are not found on it. However, it does state that selfie sticks and extension poles for cameras and mobile devices are not allowed. There are some gimbals that have the ability to extend and those are not permitted. I would also avoid bringing anything that appears professional because outside commercial photography and videography are not allowed and might raise some eyebrows at security. Ultimately, it'll be at the discretion of the Security Cast Members what is allowed through.
Your visit isn't until early next year and it might coincide with the Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure Park! It's going to be The Year of the Snake, so I hope you have some favorite Disney snakes in mind when you go. My favorite will always be the giant snake in the
Indiana Jones Adventure!
Joselyn, I hope you found this helpful and I wish you a magical visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Please feel free to write again if you have any more questions. You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to hear from you!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
