Hello Valerie! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another great question. You must be so excited that your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up so soon!
With so many shopping opportunities in the theme parks, resort hotels, and
Disney Springs, it would be almost impossible to NOT bring some of the magic home with you.
Prior to the temporary closure of Walt Disney World Resort, theme park shops offered complimentary delivery service to
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Purchases would be delivered to the merchandise location at your resort hotel and would be available there for pick-up at your convenience. (Many years ago purchases could be delivered directly to resort hotel rooms, however in more recent years, the service changed to pick-up at a resort shop.)
Resort Hotel Delivery Service is temporarily unavailable at this time. You might want to ask about this service during your visit next week, as I have noticed many services and amenities have recently been returning.
I do have some shopping tips for you, so you won't need to carry large purchases around with you all day. While I am browsing theme park shops, I make note of items I am interested in purchasing. If the items are small and/or lightweight, such as trading pins, I'll purchase them right away and stash them in my park bag. I'll save larger purchases for just before I take a break from the theme parks to go back to my hotel, or if I have
rented a locker for the day, I'll store them in the locker. Some of the larger merchandise shops, such as
Emporium in Magic Kingdom Park and
Creations Shop at EPCOT carry just about everything, so it might be possible to pick up all your must-have items in one shopping trip.
Another option would be to make a dedicated shopping visit to Disney Springs. My family likes to do this when we are taking a day "off" from visiting the theme parks.
World of Disney has almost everything you can possibly think of (and more!). Some of my other favorite must-browse shops are Basin, Marketplace Co-Op, Disney's Days of Christmas, and Disney's Pin Traders. Did you know
some merchandise locations now offer mobile check-out through the
My Disney Experience app? See how it works in
this Instagram post with alumni panelist Aena!
Valerie, I hope you found this information useful. Please stop by planDisney again with any additional questions you may have. We are always happy to help!
