Disney Gift Cards are an excellent way to help save and budget for an upcoming vacation. When my son was young, he would choose a design at a local retailer that sold Disney Gift Cards, and we would load money onto it in the months leading up to our trip. Sometimes he'd contribute, and sometimes I'd match his contributions. Then, when we arrived at Walt Disney World, he had a set amount he knew he could spend. There were no arguments, and he often waited until the end of our trip to decide how to spend his card allowance.
I have friends who use Disney Gift Cards to help budget meals on a Disney trip, especially in place of the currently paused Disney Dining Plans.
