Hi can you use gift cards in most areas at Disney resorts and Disney Parks? I want to purchase gift cards to have for spending money

Greetings, Iris, and welcome to planDisney! I'm impressed that you're already in planning mode for your visit to Walt Disney World Resort next year. It's never too early to get in a Disney frame of mind! Your idea to bring along Disney Gift Cards is brilliant, so let's set your mind at ease about how easy they are to use.

First of all, Disney Gift Cards are an excellent way to help save and budget for an upcoming vacation. When my son was young, he would choose a design at a local retailer that sold Disney Gift Cards, and we would load money onto it in the months leading up to our trip. Sometimes he'd contribute, and sometimes I'd match his contributions. Then, when we arrived at Walt Disney World, he had a set amount he knew he could spend. There were no arguments, and he often waited until the end of our trip to decide how to spend his card allowance.

I have friends who use Disney Gift Cards to help budget meals on a Disney trip, especially in place of the currently paused Disney Dining Plans. Some families load funds on individual cards for each person, and some put their food budget on one card and use that to cover all the meals during their trip. Gift cards offer so much flexibility; they really are the perfect budgeting tool!

I'm happy to say that nearly all shops and restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resort accept Disney Gift Cards. However, a few carts and kiosks at Disney Springs that are not Disney-owned may not, so be sure to ask first. Policies are also subject to change, but you should have plenty of options to use your gift cards, Iris. In addition to retailers in your area, you can also purchase Disney Gift Cards online at shopDisney.

Iris, I hope you enjoy the planning process for your visit, and please feel free to stop by planDisney anytime. We love to help guests make magical memories!

    Magic awaits,
