Hey there, thanks for bringing this question to planDisney! I love using
Disney Gift Cards for my visits to the Happiest Place on Earth!
When it comes to the numbers on your gift card, the barcode numbers are used by the retailer at the time of purchasing your gift card. Unfortunately, you cannot use those numbers to determine your gift card balance. You can typically see the gift card number on the receipt of purchase, though. Hopefully you still have the EAN number on the gift card as that is needed to see the balance online, too.
Contactless payment across the resort is the preferred way to pay and you can also use a Disney Gift Card at most restaurant and retail locations. I do recommend that if you don’t want to use a bank debit or credit card. You can pre-purchase an e-gift card then set up a
My Disney Gift Card account and link your card. If you want a physical gift card, you can purchase any gift card at Disneyland Resort or in advance at retailers like Target or Walmart. You’ll want to link all cards (up to 5) to your same account. While this isn’t a mobile wallet, it allows you to transfer funds between cards (especially if you happen to lose a physical gift card) and is also a great way to set budgets if you’ve got kiddos who want to buy things for themselves.
With all that is still in store at the Disneyland Resort this year (
Halloween Time through October 31 and
Holidays from November 15 - January 6), any time is a great time to visit! I hope you’re able to get your balance and funds transferred onto a new card or linked up on My Disney Gift Card! If you have any other questions, please
send us another message, we’re here to help!
Magic awaits!
