Ahoy Maggie!
Cruising around the beautiful Western Caribbean on the newest member of the Disney fleet sounds fantastic! I have sailed this itinerary several times and never grow tired of these spectacular ports of call! I usually book a
DCL Port Adventure for my time ashore because I like to let Disney Cruise Line take care of everything including my piece of mind! If you decide to venture out on your own, I definitely recommend leaving plenty of time to return to the ship before all aboard!
Grand Cayman is a stunning island, and one of my favorite beaches is Seven Mile Beach! It does not take long to get there by taxi, and there are some great spots to snorkel. There are chair and water sport rentals along the beach for Guests, and many of the hotels have restaurants if you get hungry. If you are looking to shop in Grand Cayman, there are plenty of shops right off the pier along the waterfront.
Cozumel also has shopping not far from the pier for your convenience. I have not experienced Chankanaab Park, but it has great snorkeling reviews. Taxis will be available at the pier if you would like to enjoy a beach day on the island.
Costa Maya has an area very close to where the cruise ship docks that is full of restaurants, shopping and even a swimming pool. Cruisers often take a taxi to Majahual, a popular beach area for island visitors.
I hope my suggestions help with your planning! If you have any other questions, please let me know!
Have a wonderful day!
