    we are getting ready to take a cruise & I hear that there is a 5k fun run? how do I find out about this and if there is any upgrades available.thanks

    Ahoy there Scott!
    It looks like you are getting very close to a magical voyage onboard Disney Cruise Line!  If you are traveling on the Dream or Fantasy, there is usually a 5K run during your stop at Disney's exclusive island, Castaway Cay.  On my last sailing, I ran the three miles and loved taking in the beauty of Disney's paradise on the paved, flat course!  Details will be listed in your Personal Navigator, the daily cruise newsletter, the night before arriving on the island.  Usually, you meet on the ship to get your race number and then disembark as a group to navigate your way to the starting line which is next to the Bike Rentals.  After finishing you will receive a Mickey Mouse "Winner" Medal, and a Finisher's Certificate will be delivered to your stateroom later on during your sailing.  Castaway Cay 5K t-shirts are available for purchase at the shop, Buy the Seashore, which is right next to the starting line. 
    There are two ways to check for upgrades for your sailing.  First, you can give Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to speak with a Cruise Reservation Agent about your particular sail date.  You can also wait until you arrive at the cruise terminal and check with a Castmember about availability.  If you are thinking about upgrading at the port, I would try to arrive as close to 11:00am as possible.
