Welcome aboard, Eric! Your Passover holiday on the Disney Magic will be here before you know it!
I was happy to learn that over Passover, the Disney Magic will have a Rabbi onboard to host a Seder dinner, so your family can celebrate this holy day with others from around the world together on the ship. Check your Personal Navigator onboard or the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the time and location of this seder meal, but you will need to make a note on your reservation letting Disney know you'll be attending, so they can prepare. They ask that you make this request as well as
Kosher meals requests 60 days or more prior to sailing. Since we're very close to that date, I suggest you call the Disney agents as soon as possible at (800) 951-3532.
I'd like to share with you a few details that I learned about how Disney Cruise Line prepares for the Passover celebration for guests onboard. In accordance with Jewish dietary laws, the Passover meal is prepared completely separately from traditional meals, and will include matzo. Kosher meals are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily in the full service restaurants onboard, and are served on trays provided by a certified Kosher company. Again, please pre-request these before setting sail. Due to ship safety regulations, open flames are not allowed onboard, so the tradition of candle lighting can not be observed. They suggest that guests who still wish to participate in the symbolic traditional ritual bring their own batter powered candles, or speak with their rabbi at their home synagogue for alternative suggestions.
Have a blessed Passover celebration onboard the Disney Magic, Eric!
