Hi Corey!
Thanks so much for bringing us your question. I'm not sure if you've heard, but some exciting changes are coming to the Lightning Lane booking process. I'm happy to share all that I've learned to help make your visit as magical as possible.
Your experience will depend on the date of your upcoming visit. If you'll be visiting now through July 23, 2024, you should be able to purchase Disney Genie+ Service beginning at midnight on the day of your visit, assuming valid admission is already linked to your
My Disney Experience Mobile App. With this purchase, you can begin making Lightning Lane selections at 7 a.m. Keep in mind you'll be assigned the next available return time for a particular attraction, but you can modify throughout the day if you find more desirable return times available. Your ability to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes will depend on whether you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel (or select other resorts). As a guest of an eligible resort, you'll have access to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes for attractions like
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT or
Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park at 7 a.m. on the day of your visit. If you are staying off-site you'll be able to make those purchases at the official theme park opening.
If your tickets are for a visit on or after July 24, 2024, the process will be different. Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel (or other eligible resorts) will be able to purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass (an enhanced, rebranded version of Disney Genie+ Service) 7 days before their check-in date. This new offering will allow guests to purchase and schedule 3 advance Multi Pass Experiences per day, for the length of admission, up to 14 days. You'll also be able to review available return times before completing the purchase. Lightning Lane Single Pass (rebranded Individual Lightning Lane) purchases can also be made for up to 2 experiences per day in advance. Guest staying off-site can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Lightning Lane Single Pass 3 days in advance for the length of admission up to 14 days. Both options may be available for same-day purchase as well.
I would like to point out that these changes go live on July 24th. Guests will not have access to advance planning before this date but will have the ability to purchase and plan their experiences for the length of their admission from the launch date forward. In addition, you'll want to make note of the experience groupings and availability for each park once these changes go into effect.
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT, and
Disney's Hollywood Studios will have experiences split into two groups. Guests can choose 1 selection from the first group and 2 selections from the second group for their initial 3 experiences.
I know this was a lot of information, and more details will likely continue to be available as the launch date nears. If you need additional clarification or guidance please come back and let us know. I'll be happy to research and share any new information as it becomes available.
Magic and memories,
Amy
