Bonjour Emily!
Thank you for being our guest at planDisney today. It sounds like there's a little something there that wasn't there before and it's so exciting that you'd like to reveal the big news at Walt Disney World Resort.
As you might have guessed, many parents-to-be ask us about including their favorite characters in their gender reveal plans. Though it's a popular request and a magical idea, unfortunately, there isn't a way to book this type of experience. To my knowledge, guests can reserve a 30-minute character appearance as part of their
Disney Fairytale Wedding reception, but there isn't a comparable experience in the parks.
But don't despair, Emily! I'm happy to offer a few alternate suggestions to keep the magic going and the last petal from falling. You might consider making an advance dining reservation at
Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park. The Beast is known to walk through the restaurant offering a quick wave, but the atmosphere is perfect if you'd like to pose for a few photos while holding up a baby onesie or other trinket with the big news. My family was lucky enough to dine in the West Wing right near the enchanted rose but I believe guests are welcome to walk through each of the rooms after their meal to take in all the decor.
I've also seen a few posts online about a photo opportunity with the Beast at the end of the meal. We experienced this during our visit a few years ago, but a formal meet and greet has been unavailable post-pandemic. I reached out to a Cast Member for confirmation and they indicated that a photo opportunity is available, but character attendance is not guaranteed. In my opinion, the restaurant's atmosphere alone is well worth visiting for any
Beauty and the Beast fan.
If you've got your sights set on Belle you can see her in action in her yellow gown at
Enchanted Tales with Belle, also at Magic Kingdom Park. Guests of all ages are often invited to take part in the show and in my experience, can pose for photos with her at the end of the show. I don't know if she would be able to pose with everyone in attendance or if she would have time for an elaborate reveal but it never hurts to ask.
Belle also has a more formal meet and greet in EPCOT's France Pavilion, dressed in her blue provincial gown. This might be the perfect place to ask for her help announcing the big news! Again, she may have limited time as she prepares for adventure in the great wide somewhere, but I'll cross my fingers that your experience will be as enchanting as a castle under a magical spell. You can confirm her availability in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App by clicking the map icon (second from left) and choosing "Characters" from the drop-down list at the top of the screen. You can filter by park and see availability via a list or map view.
I hope this helped, Emily. Please come back and see us again with more questions. We're always happy to have our planDisney service put to the test!
Magic and memories,
Amy
