G'day. My family and i are 1st time cruisers on DF (west carribean) in July 2013. I am hoping to get to Orlando International Airport to catch a plane to Key West which departs at 10:45pm. Is this possible? Thanks for your help! Cheers

    Welcome aboard, Simone!

Wow, it sounds like you have quite the vacation planned! A Disney cruise and then off to Key West after that? What an adventure!

Disney suggests that all airline departures be for 11:30 a.m. or later on the day you disembark the ship. Though odds are, you'd be at the airport just in time for that 10:45, there is always the chance that the ship gets in late to port, luggage takes longer than expected, weather causes problems, the airport security line is long, or really any number of issues that could cause it to take longer to leave the ship and make your flight on time. If there is a later flight, you should probably book that one.

As you're leaving the ship after a relaxing cruise, you certainly don't want the stress of possibly missing your flight to be a damper on the day. I'm sorry there isn't a really specific answer I can give you on this, Simone. But, I tend to play it safe, and since even Disney recommends a later flight, I'd try to get the next possible flight to Key West. And hey, even if you have to sit in the airport a couple extra hours, you have another wonderful vacation to look forward to after your cruise, so waiting won't be that bad, right?

Happy planning and let me know if I can help out with anything else before you set sail, Simone!
