Gareth,
Thanks for your question to planDisney!
When you see the number of days you have to spend your theme park tickets, that span of time is set. You could use all the 14 theme park days straight away, leaving you four days at the end to do whatever you wish. Or, as my family does on our visits, you could drop some no-theme park days in the middle of your trip to add some relaxation and exploration to the vacation plans.
When you visit a water park or go for a round of mini golf, they are not going to impact your theme park ticket usage. You could visit a water park on one of those no-theme park days, or you could enjoy some mini-golf on the same day that you went to the
Magic Kingdom Park. Basically, you can think of them as running somewhat independently of each other.
BOTTOM LINERemember that when you go into a water park or play a round of mini golf, you are NOT using a theme park entry from your package.
BONUS TIP If you would like to plus up your water park visit, I strongly recommend you consider booking one of the reserved spaces. At
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park you can book either a
Beachcomber Shack or a
Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas reservation. In both cases you get a "home base" where you can keep your belongings and give your family a place to meet up. In the case of the Beachcomber shacks, you also get a nice, secluded place with incredible views of the wave pool for your family to connect and relax between activities.
I hope that this helps, and that you will send us any follow up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
