Good journey Matthew, and welcome back to planDisney. I’m always honored to help a fellow Gaya fan!
I got a few leads from a fellow Halcyon passenger and made my way to Batuu to investigate. While there aren’t many Starcruiser references left, as Han Solo says, “never tell me the odds!”
Starting at
Oga’s Cantina, you already know that DJ R-3X plays Gaya’s Oola Shuka. So while you’re rocking out to this total bop, don’t miss the job board where you’ll find Captain Keevan’s post looking for a mechanic. When you walk into Oga’s, turn right and you’ll see the board across from the bar. The job listing, which we know was filled by Sammie, is at the bottom. Be sure to brush up on your Aurebesh before you go! For a little translation help, go into the
Play Disney Parks app, change the location to Disney's Hollywood Studios (sometimes it'll default to At Home), swipe over to Star Wars: Datapad, and press the Play button. Here you'll find Translate under Tools.
Next, head toward the market to intercept some phone calls. I spoke to some Batuu locals and they confirmed that Zabaka in
Toydarian Toymaker gets a call about winning an all-expenses paid voyage on the Halcyon. And Dok-Ondar, in his
Den of Antiquities, receives a call about the holocron that ends up on the Halcyon. They noted that the audio varies in these shops, so either you need some lucky timing or you can stake out a spot and wait. Fortunately, Dok’s has an endless number of treasures to keep you busy!
There are two other references I also heard about, but there was some confusion about whether they only exist at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in
Disneyland, so your mileage may vary on these.
The intel says that there’s cargo tagged for Gaya—a crate in the
Creature Stall and a bolt of fabric in
Black Spire Outfitters, both on or near the ceiling. I searched high and low, but couldn’t find them. However, if you’re in Black Spire Outpost, keep an eye out to see if you can locate any of Gaya’s goodies!
Finally, I was also told you can occasionally hear a radio advertisement for Chandrila Star Line over the ambient noise in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. I didn’t hear it when I was there, but it’s another reference you might be able to catch.
I hope you have fun on this galactic scavenger hunt, and may the stars light your way!
