Ash from West Sussex Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! When in Galaxy’s Edge next month, I hope to purchase a lightsaber! I’m from the U.K. and I was wondering if you have any Information on how to safely bring the lightsaber blade home with me! Thanks in advance and have a magical day!

Bright Suns, Ash! I'm so glad to see you back here at planDisney with this great question. Thankfully, Obi-Wan Kenobi isn't your only hope!

It sounds like you'll be visiting a galaxy far, far away soon and will be building some precious cargo when visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Ash, you must truly be a Jedi since the secret location of Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers has been kept hidden from the First Order and patrolling stormtroopers! I understand how important it is to have your lightsaber return home intact and battle-ready. I'd love to help you with its transportation!

Ash, you are welcome to bring your lightsaber on your plane home as a carry-on item. The blade will detach from the hilt and you'll be able to store both in the bag provided by Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers. I'd recommend waiting to store your lightsaber in the overhead compartment until other passengers have made their way on the plane, just to be sure that other luggage doesn't knock into your lightsaber! I've also heard of passengers with a window seat keeping their lightsaber laid down next to the window so it can be kept close by for safekeeping. You may also want to ask a Cast Member about potential shipping options at either Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities or the merchandise area at Droid Depot. As policies can sometimes shift and change, there's a chance that you may be able to ship your lightsaber home via UPS or FedEx. If not, they may be able to provide some next best steps available to you! The great news is that there are multiple options you can take so that your lightsaber arrives home safely.

You'll need to refuel when you're on Planet Batuu and I'd recommend a pit stop at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. You can even place a mobile order through the My Disney Experience app – it's easier than a Jedi mind trick! And don't forget to try the blue and green milk at the Milk Stand (I'm team blue milk all the way!).

If you have any other questions, please write to us again. And may the Force be with you!

    Til the Spires!
