Kimberly,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
I too have a daughter whose culinary exploits focus exclusively on chicken nuggets. Chicken tenders when she is feeling
"fancy"! She is 14 years old, and yet still orders mostly from the kids' menus. But on vacation, everyone gets to eat what they want!
Yes, your daughter can order from the kids' menu at most any standard dining location. Your one real consideration is that even if she opts for kids' menu items, when you are eating at a dinner show or at a buffet or other fixed price dining venue, she will still be charged the adult pricing. For example, if you are enjoying both the exotic and familiar fare of the dinner buffet at the
Tusker House Restaurant in
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, she is still going to be charged the adult buffet price. It makes sense, but it is worth repeating.
BONUS TIP #1I know what it is like to try to expand a child's palette. One thing that might help is having a meal where your family walks around the
EPCOT World Showcase and just tries some of the smaller bites from the stands along the walkway. Everyone can share, and if she just does not like something, no worries. There is always something else new just a few steps away to try next!
BONUS TIP #2Are you looking for the best chicken strips/chicken tenders at Walt Disney World? Of course opinions vary, but
Chicken Guy! at
Disney Springs may be your best bet. It is let by Guy Fieri, the celebrity chef from Food Network, and the reviews have been outstanding! Don't be afraid (i.e.,
chicken) to try it out!
BONUS TIP #3
Make sure you have the
My Disney Experience App on your smart phone before you arrive. I love ordering lunch without waiting in line with the
Mobile Online Ordering service.
I love to chat about food at Walt Disney World. Why don't you
write me back with any other food questions you have, and I can help you along the way. I am glad to offer recommendations, just let me know what you like.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
